God’s STRATEGY for Chattanooga Valley Presyberian Church’s MISSION

Immediately before “setting his face to go to Jerusalem” (Luke 9:51), Jesus called all would be disciples:

If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.

Thus, God’s crisp, three step “Strategic Plan” to call to himself and re-create in Christ a new people whose lives exemplify the mind and model of Christ himself is self-denial, willful death and gracious resurrection. As Francis Schaeffer says, this is the strategy, “there is no other.”

CVPC’s Role in God’s Vision, Mission and Strategy

We believe, therefore, that this community of Christ’s redeemed (CVPC) is one part of this new people that God has called and recreated in Christ…

…to exemplify his restoring grace in Jesus Christ, the presence of his future restoration, through the demonstrative proclamation of the life-giving gospel of Christ through worship, fellowship, and service; becoming instruments of his restoring grace in Jesus Christ by which individuals, marriages, families and communities are restored to life, joy, peace and hope in every facet of their being, to the praise of God’s glory.

Our Prayer

To this end, then, we pray that:

God would overwhelm us, Chattanooga Valley and the Nations, by the glory of God and transform us by the grace and peace of God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ, working in His people empowered by His Spirit for the display of His glory in Jesus Christ.
