Speaking of some future individual by whom the joy and gladness of Israel would be secured, Isaiah writes:

In that day [the great day of restoration following a time of judgment], you [singular] will say,
‘I will give thanks to you, O Lord, for though you were angry with me,
your anger turned away, that you might comfort me.
‘Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust and will not be afraid;
for the Lord God is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation.’

So that with joy you [plural] will draw water from the wells of salvation.” (Isaiah 12:1-3)

Since Jesus, that promised individual, has come and absorbed the anger of the Lord on our behalf and been raised to live and reign in glory thereby securing the joy and gladness of our salvation, let us come together with him and one another before the throne of glory with rejoicing, bearing testimony to the glory, majesty, and restoring grace of the God of our salvation before one another and the watching world.
